Install Wine On Mac Catalina
With 32-bit program support going away on the Mac with Catalina we need to start seriously figuring out how to have WINE run on these newer systems so that reasonable instructions can be provided.
Right now we can use VMs (VirtualBox, Parallels, VM Fusion) using other operating systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or if you can actually get it to work an older version of the MacOS) thought doing this correctly is kind of 'uhhh, how do you do that?'
But is that the best (ie easiest) solution we can come up with or is there some other method on the table we could use?
I tried to install L4D2 via Wine, which I had previously used to play classic games like Railroad Tycoon 3. But I found that my Wine setup wasn’t working anymore either, and didn’t look like it was ever going to be. The official suggestion from Steam was to partition your Mac and dual-boot multiple versions of macOS.

After downloading the program, follow the steps below in order to install on macOS Mojave 10.14. Double-click the wine-for-Mac.zip file to extract it to the desktop. Wait while the.zip file is expanding. Double click on the program to run Wine. Follow the SWTORsetup.exe installation process and install it into the default given folder. Do not start the launcher. Close Terminal by pressing ⌘Q. Open Terminal again. Copy-paste WINEPREFIX=/'SWTOR On Mac' winecfg into Terminal. Switch to Libraries tab.
